U.S. intelligence states its case on the shoot-down of MH17
The Office of the Director of National Intelligence released various images and maps purported to show the movements of a surface-to-air missile launcher as well as evidence of a buildup of Russian military activity across the border.
1 - A social media posting, accessed on July 17, shows an SA-11 on a transporter traveling through the Krasnodon area back to Russia. The posting was among the intelligence released by the Obama administration on July 22 as evidence that Moscow trained and equipped the rebels in Ukraine responsible for the Malaysian jet crash. U.S. Intelligence Community
2 - Another social media posting showing an SA-11 on a transporter making its way through the Krasnodon area of Ukraine back to Russia. U.S. Intelligence Community/U.S. Intelligence Community
3 - This social media posting was also released by the Obama administration as evidence of an SA-11 on a transporter making its way through the Krasnodon area of Ukraine back to Russia. U.S. Intelligence Community/U.S. Intelligence Community

I wish I had an answer to that. I just don’t know. Many of the conflicts in this world are driven by interests that are opaque to the general public. Most of these interests involve power, longevity of the rich and money.

Yeah, that’s true.
You know the funniest thing is that 20 years ago, Ukraine was the world’s third largest nuclear weapons state, behind only Russia and the United States. Then it signed a treaty voluntarily handing over its arsenal to Russia, in exchange for guarantees that Russia would respect its borders… I never like that treaty. Never. And I was right.
So if your country has nuclear weapon you better never - I MEAN IT - NEVER get rid of it.

Because you can’t charge at Russia on your own. Russia has a strong army, AND strong alliances. Ukraine needs backup but it’s likely it won’t be getting it any time soon. If at all. :\

So I do not understand why they spend time on hopeless venture.

Europe’s scared ball-less of Putin because he’s got the cheap oil. If they raise their heads, oops there goes their oil. They’ll have to get it from the over-expensive Arab countries. That’s the world for you. Full of fear, hate, and mistrust.

One of my specialties is an economist, so yeah, I know it. I can not understand one thing: why our government makes these slow dancing with Europe, even if it is clear to me that there will be no help from it?

The Security Service of Ukraine intercepted conversations of the DNR terrorist organization leaders, which once again prove direct involvement of the Russian side into inspiration and escalation of an armed conflict in Donetsk and Luhansk regions.
The materials also indicate that Oleksii Chesnakov, Deputy Secretary of the ruling political party United Russia General Council, directly participates in implementation of the Russian scenario on destabilization of the situation in the Ukrainian east.
It is worth mentioning the intent of O. Chesnokov to use one of the DNR terrorists’ leaders I. Girkin (aka Strelok) to glorify the Russain President V. Putin.

SSU (Ukraine’s Security Service) releases a recording of the telephone conversation between terrorists two minutes before the Boeing-777 tragedy on 17 July.
Specifically, the recording proves that the terrorists from the group of Igor Bezler, (aka “Bies” (Devil), lieutenant-colonel of GRU, Russia’s Military Intelligence Directorate) knew about the approaching aircraft. After the subordinates reported to “Bies” about the approaching jet-liner, he commanded to pass the information up the command chain.

Two Ukrainian fighter jets were shot down Wednesday over separatist-held territory not far from the site of the Malaysia Airlines crash as international outrage over the tragedy has done little to slow the fierce fighting in eastern Ukraine.

Updates on MH17 crash

skydiver-tomyo:

So, finally my sites have updates and I’ve got quite a lot of new information.

Yesterday I reblogged the post by rogers-and-stark, about the black boxes being handed to Malaysian government.

The International Red Cross Committee considers the situation in Ukraine as a war.

That the country is at war opens the possibility that events like the shooting down of Malaysia Airlines plane in eastern Ukraine, can be investigated and directly treated as a war crime.

Starting with the deceased victims’ bodies now being transported to Netherlands by train, then military plane, which has probably landed by now. However, the question still remains if the separatists have done anything to the bodies of the victims.

Knowing them, most likely.

On the other hand, some major plane parts in the crash site has been changed, some shows marks of being cut.

Large debris by Malaysia Airlines plane has been cut in and look different than when OSCE observers first saw them, says a spokesman for OSCE to BBC.

Also, to something else.

A Swedish man in his 60’s is captured by Ukrainian separatists in eastern Ukraine.

The Swedish man according to Expressen, is named Anton Gerasjenko and is a businessman who works in both Ukraine and Russia.

He is apparently listed with residence in Norway.

Separatist leader Igor Bezler confirmed in an interview with the Russian news agency RIA Novosti that a Swedish man in his 60’s is imprisoned.

- We do not yet know whether he is a soldier or not. We have received information that the Ukrainian military should have a sniper from Sweden. Therefore, we investigated this, says Bezlar to the news agency.

The Swedish Foreign Ministry confirmed the kidnapping.

- We know he is kidnapped, but we would not comment further, says Lena Tranberg, an spokeswoman at the Foreign Ministry.

- A Swedish citizen is reported missing in Ukraine and he could be abducted against their will, says Fredrik Kärrholm from the National Criminal Police.
